World of Wood – 2019

World of Wood is the visual identity we developed for the homonymous event Dizainăr has organised together with Liga Media in the spring of 2019.

In our process, we analyzed both the symbols of wood and wood processing while looking at the written wordmark. The repetition of the letter “W” makes it look like a stylized pair of saw teeth. The final decision was to include the “saw teeth” in a circle that connects with both the letter “O” and the roundness of the world.

The main logo color is a warm red. It is a contrast color that attracts attention and at the same time its “warmth” is the connection to the symbolic warmth that wood is usually associated with. The monochromatic versions are black or white depending on the different backgrounds.
