La Sfat is an urban mini-festival about money culture that brings financial education into the heart of small Romanian towns in an accessible, engaging format. Designed as a friendly caravan of interactive workshops, games, board-game simulations, art exhibitions, discussions, and music, La Sfat invites people of all ages to talk openly about money, budgeting, planning and financial choices in a practical way that connects to everyday life. The project blends cultural experiences with hands-on learning, transforming public spaces into welcoming environments for financial curiosity, responsible decision-making, and community conversation. This edition was developed in collaboration with the cultural organization Fapte (known for community-centred cultural events) and Overskin Entertainment, with DZNR contributing design and experiential elements to the traveling format.
The core of the system consists of two standard ISO shipping containers, each with a length of 6 m. One container is converted into a fully functional coffee shop with integrated storage and service infrastructure, while the second container operates as a pop-up retail and exhibition space dedicated to local creators. The containers act as permanent anchors for the event, defining the main axes of circulation and programmatic zones.
The surrounding layout is organized as a semi-open plaza with a total of 14 tables and approximately 60 fixed seats, complemented by informal seating elements such as poufs, allowing for flexible use during peak and off-peak moments. A dedicated stage area supports live performances, talks and conferences, and is dimensioned to accommodate both artistic and educational programming without interfering with the social areas of the site.
A mobile photography exhibition is integrated into the spatial system through 14 vertical totems positioned along circulation routes and gathering points. These elements function both as exhibition supports and as visual markers that structure movement and orientation within the site.
Vegetation is systematically distributed across the layout using planters and green buffers, contributing to microclimatic comfort, visual continuity and a softer transition between temporary architecture and the surrounding urban context. Furniture and lighting are curated exclusively from Romanian designers, ensuring coherence between the spatial concept, materiality and the project’s cultural mission.
The overall design prioritizes modularity, rapid assembly and disassembly, durability and ease of transport, allowing La Sfat to function as a repeatable, adaptable platform for cultural and educational engagement in public space.
